Wooden Barong Mask, Wall Decoration, 1980s, Indonesia

An expressive Balinese mask, hand-carved and painted.

Dimensions: height 27 cm, width 27 cm, depth 16 cm.

The large round eyes, broad muzzle and open mouth give the mask its lively expression. Black and ivory white are set against deep red and gold accents. Hung on a wall, the deep carving comes into its own and brings character to an interior.

In good vintage condition, with signs of use consistent with its age. A small repair on the back remains out of sight when the mask is hung.
