Japanese Hina Ningyō Set, Heian Hina by Shōhō, 1990s

Charming Japanese Hina Ningyō set with an imperial couple, made in fine ceramic and presented on a black display platform with a gold-coloured folding screen. This type of set is traditionally displayed in Japan during Hinamatsuri, the Doll Festival or Girls’ Festival.

The set consists of two ceramic figures, two ceramic lanterns, a gold-coloured byōbu screen, a black display platform, a wooden name plaque and the original box.

Box dimensions: height 8 cm, width 25 cm, depth 16 cm.

The figures represent the traditional Hina couple, with the emperor and empress dressed in colourful ceremonial robes. The soft yellow tones, red and blue accents, gold details and small folding screen give the piece an elegant and festive appearance.

The wooden name plaque reads Heian Hina, with “made by Shōhō” below.

The set is in perfect condition and complete with its original packaging. A refined Japanese miniature set, beautiful as a small accent in a display cabinet, on a low cabinet, writing table, console or in a Japanese-inspired interior.
