Product Details

Decorative Japanese object in natural lacquered wood, dating from the 1960s–1970s.

Dimensions: height approx. 21 cm, width 33 cm, depth 28 cm.

The piece is formed from an irregular section of wood, with the natural trunk, root and bark structures deliberately left visible. The high-gloss lacquer finish highlights the warm honey-toned wood, the organic lines and the darker raw areas of the material.

This type of natural wooden display was used in Japan as a decorative base for ikebana, bonsai, a teapot, ceramics or small art objects. Its irregular shape gives each piece a unique sculptural character.

Today, it is a striking interior accent: beautiful as a low display base on a cabinet, table or pedestal, but also strong on its own as a wabi-sabi object with a warm, natural presence.

A unique Japanese decorative object with rich texture, organic form and a calm, luxurious appearance.
