Japanese Wooden Step Stool, Fumidai, 1970s

Japanese wooden fumidai from the Shōwa period, designed in a simple and functional form with a rectangular top and an additional lower shelf.

Dimensions: height 30 cm, width 36 cm, depth 23.5 cm.

The wood has a warm dark brown tone and a restrained, natural appearance. The slightly angled side panels give the piece a sturdy and well-balanced form.

Today, this fumidai also works beautifully as a small side table or decorative interior accent, ideal for displaying a ceramic object, sculpture or ikebana arrangement.

In attractive vintage condition, with normal signs of age and use that contribute to its authentic character.
