Colorful Japanese painting by Seno Sakae, from the 1960s, Japan.

Dimensions: height 74 cm, width 62.5 cm, depth 3.5 cm.

The title of the artwork is 'Sazae after the meal'. Sazae is a turban shell, a common sea snail found along the coasts of Japan, highly valued in Japanese cuisine.

This painting combines influences from expressionism, cubism, and abstract art, resulting in an intriguing composition with vibrant colors.

The central figure holds a plate with sazae, a subtle reference to a Japanese delicacy served after meals.
