Antique Japanese Isho-Dansu, 2-part Kasane Kimono Chest, Meiji era.
Beautiful, dark, weathered Kasane Isho-Dansu or two-part kimono chest.
The two separate parts are connected by ironwork on the sides.
The tansu has four spacious drawers, equipped with metal handles and lock plates (without a key).
In the past, these types of chests were used for travel and trade. The upper metal handles allowed a wooden beam to be slid through, making it easier to carry the furniture.
This drawer cabinet has aged and weathered beautifully.
A traditional and authentic Japanese piece of furniture with history, a unique interior piece!
Dimensions: height 100 cm, width 89 cm, depth 43 cm.
