Product Details

Beautiful Japanese Jubako with three tiers and an additional lid.

Dimensions: height 26.5 cm, width 22.5 cm, depth 21 cm.

These wooden stacking boxes are finished with Urushi lacquer in black and vermilion and adorned with a gold maki-e decoration.

The decoration features patterns of bamboo (竹, take), sakura (桜, cherry blossoms), and pine tree (松, matsu).

In Japan, bamboo symbolizes resilience and flexibility, sakura represents the transience and beauty of the moment, and pine trees stand for durability and wisdom.

With two lids, two boxes can be covered.

This authentic Jubako can also serve as a unique and stylish jewelry box today.

A Jubako is a traditional Japanese stackable food box or lunchbox, often used for serving dishes during special occasions such as New Year or picnics.

The wooden boxes are in good condition, with signs of aging consistent with their age.
