Product Details

Japanese creative kokeshi by Issetsu Kuribayashi, dating from the Shōwa period.

Dimensions: height 18 cm, diameter 11 cm.

The kokeshi has a compact, rounded form with a softly modelled head and a minimally defined face. The warm brown tone of the wood and its clearly visible grain give the piece a natural and refined appearance.

The body is decorated with a dark red and black floral motif, creating a beautiful contrast with the restrained design. The maker’s signature can be found on the underside.

A characterful and collectible sosaku kokeshi by Issetsu Kuribayashi, beautiful as part of a collection or as a sculptural object in a contemporary interior.
