Elegant wooden bowl with a black exterior and vermilion interior, decorated all around with fine gold maki-e of leaves and berries.

Dimensions: height 7.5 cm, diameter 17 cm.

The box label reads “kashibachi” (bowl for sweets). The underside is inscribed “kotobuki” (auspicious congratulations) with the names Toshihiko and Harumi. Material & technique: lacquered wood (urushi), roiro-black exterior, shu-red interior, gold decoration in maki-e.

In perfect condition; new old stock with the original box.

Use: traditionally for wagashi/sweets served with tea; also ideal today for nuts, candy, or fruit.

A refined decorative accent on its own.
