Product Details

This elegant Japanese metal vase was made in Takaoka (Toyama), a region renowned for centuries for its refined copper and bronze metalwork. The form is slender and beautifully balanced, with a gently flared neck that gives the silhouette both quiet tension and calm.

Dimensions: height 27 cm, diameter 18 cm. In perfect condition, stamped on the base.

The surface features a soft, satin-like patina with a subtle colour gradient shifting from dark grey and blue to warm copper-brown. A gilt chrysanthemum motif decorates the body—an iconic Japanese symbol associated with dignity, continuity, and refinement. Together, these elements give the vase a restrained sense of luxury that sits effortlessly in minimalist interiors as well as alongside warmer materials such as wood and textiles.

The vase comes with its original wooden tomobako storage box and an accompanying leaflet explaining Takaoka metalwork (高岡銅器).

A timeless interior piece that works beautifully as a stand-alone statement, yet is equally suited to a simple ikebana arrangement or a single branch.
