Beautiful small tansu with five drawers featuring Hakone Yosegi Zaiku inlay.

Hakone Marquetry: Hakone Yosegi Zaiku is a technique that utilizes the natural colors of different woods, assembling them to create intricate geometric patterns. The Hakone Mountains house the finest tree species in Japan.

This traditional pattern is called the 'hexagonal hemp leaf' and symbolizes the wish for children to grow up healthy and be protected from evil spirits. This geometric figure is also very popular as a pattern for baby clothing.

The wood is finished with glossy lacquer, giving the furniture a luxurious appearance.

This small tansu is in very good condition and brings traditional Japanese craftsmanship into your interior.

Dimensions: height 22 cm, width 50 cm, depth 26 cm.
