Product Details

This kimono is a furisode (振袖): the formal long-sleeved kimono traditionally worn by young, unmarried women for ceremonial occasions such as Seijin Shiki (Coming of Age Day) and other festive, formal events.

Dimensions: length 170 cm, width 133 cm, sleeve width 30 cm, sleeve length 110 cm. Material: silk.

The design is bold and richly layered. Against a black-grey ground, large red pine motifs and drifting clouds of blossom unfold across the surface, complemented by floral elements and birds as striking focal points. Several areas are embroidered, with accents in lustrous (gold-toned) thread, adding extra depth and a refined, luxurious finish.

This piece also works beautifully in a contemporary setting: displayed as a statement textile on the wall, it instantly brings colour and rhythm into a space. Of course, the kimono can still be worn for ceremonies, photoshoots or styling moments—an expressive, one-of-a-kind garment that reads just as strongly as a wearable textile artwork.

Condition: in beautiful vintage condition, with possible light, normal signs of age and use consistent with its age and storage.
