This beautiful, compact Japanese tansu chest is a refined example of traditional craftsmanship from the Meiji period.
Dimensions: height 48 cm, width 88 cm, depth 41 cm.
With its warm, dark reddish-brown wood tone and robust black iron fittings, the piece adds a characterful accent to any interior. The subtle patina, developed through years of careful use, reflects the quiet beauty of time and tradition.
The chest features two spacious drawers with elegant metal handles. Its black forged-iron fittings — including decorative lock plates, corner brackets, and traditional side handles — lend the piece a bold yet refined presence.
Highly versatile, this chest works beautifully as a low console or as a pedestal for a striking vase, ceramics, plants, or any treasured object deserving of a central place in the home.
