Mid Century Cha Tansu Shōwa 昭和時代 Japanese tea cabinet 1940s
Japanese tea cabinet from the early Showa period (1940-1950).
These types of cabinets were placed in the central living space and were used to store all the essentials for making tea.
The cabinet has a storage space at the top that can be opened at your discretion with four small sliding doors.
Below is the showcase section with two sliding glass doors.
This compartment contains a beautiful étagère made of curved wood, a small drawer, and a storage space with two sliding doors decorated with floral-patterned fabric.
Below, there is additional storage space: on the left with two sliding doors and on the right with a hinged door.
At the very bottom, there is space for two drawers.
With this tea cabinet, you bring an authentic and traditional piece of Japan into your home.
The tansu is in good condition with normal signs of use.
