A Sashidaru or 'finger barrel' is a lacquered rectangular wooden sake vessel.

This is the oldest version of a sake cask and dates from the 18th century (Edo period 1603-1868), Japan.
Typical Japanese lacquerwork, a cylindrical spout. Finished with brass details.
Dimensions: height 37 cm, width 42.5 cm, depth 13 cm. In good, lived-in condition.

Beautiful and rare object. Decorative in your interior and certainly loved by sake lovers.
