Set of Japanese Porcelain Serving Plates – Mino Ware, 1980s
Elegant set of 10 Japanese serving plates (Mino-yaki), crafted in the Gifu region – the heart of Japan’s ceramic tradition.
Dating from the 1970s–1980s, the plates are made of fine porcelain with a vibrant and colorful design.
Dimensions: diameter 20.5 cm, height 2 cm.
The central medallion features a rich floral motif in deep blue, with colorful autumn grasses (aki no nanakusa), including bellflowers and lady’s mantle. The border is finely decorated with scrolling vines and blossoms in red and blue, giving the plates a fresh and elegant character. The subtly scalloped rim adds an extra touch of charm.
Each piece is marked on the underside and represents typical Mino ware porcelain – prized for its balance of tradition and modern elegance.
In excellent condition, perfect for use or as part of a decorative table setting. Ideal for serving sushi, sashimi, or other Japanese dishes, yet equally striking as a decorative display.
