Set of Two Japanese Vintage Drip-Glaze Vases – ca. 1980
A striking pair of handmade Japanese vases from the 1980s, featuring a distinctive nagashi-yū (drip-glaze) technique.
Dimensions: Height 14.5 cm, diameter 10 cm. In perfect condition.
The vibrant color combinations and organic glaze flow make each piece unique.
One vase boasts a deep red base with expressive streaks of yellow-green, blue, and purple cascading in flame-like patterns. The other showcases a lustrous interplay of midnight blue, black, and turquoise. Both vases rest on hexagonal feet, with rounded bodies and wide, gently flared necks—an elegant silhouette that shines as a standalone piece or as a duo.
The vases feature a gold-colored inscription:
"戸倉 上山田" (Togura Kamiyamada) – referencing the historic ceramic-producing region in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
A joyful and bold accent piece that blends Japanese craftsmanship and aesthetics with unmistakable 1980s charm.
