Product Details

Unique and large 'burl wood' (Yakusugi) decoration from Japan, 大正天皇, Taishō-era (1879 – 1926).

This item consists of two parts: the raised part is a cross-section of a whimsically shaped root stem.

The lower part is a root element in which the root stem can be presented. Yakusugi wood is a very rare type of wood today.

With its beautiful deep warm palette of colours, it is the eye-catcher in your interior, Wabi Sabi style.

Very decorative and was also used as a room divider in Japan.
Tiger Moku: the tiger-like pattern formed by the growth rings in the wood.
Wood species: Yakusugi (Satsuma cedar or Oni cedar).
