Traditional Japanese spinning wheel, known as an "itomaki" (糸巻き) from the Meiji period.

Dimensions: height 32 cm, width 46 cm, depth 24 cm. In good condition with a marking.

An authentic piece of Japanese history, perfect as a unique decorative accent in any stylish interior.

The itomaki was primarily used for spinning yarn. The fibers were spun into a continuous thread through the wheel's rotating motion. This spinning wheel was widely used during the Edo (1603-1868) and Meiji (1868-1912) periods in Japan and symbolizes the traditional crafts and self-sufficient lifestyle of that era.
