Unique Ceramic Wall Plate, Gennaro Condurso, Seminara, Italy

A large and expressive ceramic plate from Seminara in Calabria, Italy, made by Gennaro Condurso.

A unique handmade piece, created as a one-off work.

Dimensions: height 4 cm, diameter 44 cm.

This decorative plate has a lively, painterly surface with a playful modernist composition. Large stylised eyes, geometric shapes, circles, lines and free brushstrokes are painted in red, green, blue, yellow, black and grey. The overall style feels spontaneous, artistic and slightly Picasso-inspired, without losing its connection to traditional Southern Italian ceramic craft.

The plate comes from Seminara, a Calabrian village known for its colourful and expressive ceramic tradition. This piece combines folk art, craftsmanship and contemporary expression, giving it a strong decorative presence.

A wall hanging is provided on the back, so the plate can easily be displayed as a wall object. It can also be placed on a table, sideboard or console, for example as a decorative bowl for fruit, nuts or other small objects.

A powerful and unique ceramic object with great visual impact, perfect as a colourful accent in an interior, among folk art, contemporary ceramics, wabi-sabi objects or artistic collector’s pieces.
