Product Details

This wooden crate from Japan, produced by Dainippon Jochugiku Co., Ltd. (Kincho), was originally used for packaging katori-senkō, the classic Japanese spiral mosquito-repellent incense.

Dimensions: height 42 cm, width 56 cm, depth 32 cm.
Good condition, with visible signs of use as shown in the photos.

The original paper labels are still present on both sides: a beautiful blue-green design featuring the iconic bird and chrysanthemum motifs, characteristic of the Shōwa period. Today, this is a highly decorative piece with an authentic, timeworn presence. It works perfectly as a storage crate in the kitchen (for potatoes or vegetables), in the living room for textiles, blankets, or magazines, or as a low side table with plants or ceramics displayed on top. The warm wood and graphic label give the piece real character, making it a subtle vintage accent for any interior.
