Vintage Postmodern Coffee Table with Smoked Mirror Glass, ca. 1970–1980

An imposing square coffee table dating from the late 1970s or early 1980s, constructed from wood clad in copper and finished with smoked mirrored-glass panels.

The generously proportioned tabletop has chamfered corners and is arranged around a large central panel with a warmly weathered, metallic surface. A broad border of dark smoked mirror glass surrounds the centre, framed by a profiled copper-toned edge. The mirrored glass subtly reflects light and its surroundings, adding further depth to the substantial design.

The table rests on a powerful square pedestal base, also clad in copper and detailed with horizontal and vertical mouldings. The combination of its monumental base, geometric form and reflective materials gives the piece a distinctly postmodern and luxurious appearance.

With its generous proportions, the table creates a strong focal point in a living room, reception area, gallery or hotel interior. It works particularly well within eclectic, Brutalist, Hollywood Regency or late mid-century settings.

In very good vintage condition, with normal signs of use, patina, discolouration and superficial wear consistent with its age and materials. No distracting damage.
