Very beautiful vintage kokeshi crafted by Eiko Shibata.

This kokeshi features a beautifully stylized face and hairstyle with two striking braids.

Dimensions: height 30 cm, diameter 7 cm. The underside of this kokeshi bears the stamp of the artisan.

Eiko Shibata, (1924-), hails from Shiraishi, Miyagi Prefecture.

She has been creating kokeshi for over fifty years, focusing on the culture and heart of the Japanese people.
