Nagatoshi Takahashi with his recognizable so eloquently without any words northern aesthetic. In all his creations which are more sculptures (with a mid century flavor) than dolls. The artisan could spend literally years for finding the right wood for ‘it’s soul to be shown’ which is the most important element in his works. These unornamented dolls were made to appear as if they are tanned from the light reflection off the snow, and have a shiny finish, so that the observer could see himself/herself in the head of each doll.
Works by Nagatoshi Takahashi are difficult to obtain, especially as couples ... Collector's item!
