Vintage Ikebana Vase, Bamboo Style, Tokyo, 1970s
This striking ikebana vase combines the look of traditional bamboo with a clean, modern design.
Dimensions: height 30 cm, diameter 13 cm.
The exterior is made of plastic with fine vertical “bamboo” lines in a warm honey tone. At the top sits a copper-coloured water reservoir.
A clever detail is the screw construction: the vase can be unscrewed at the centre, revealing a hidden storage compartment inside. Perfect for keeping ikebana tools together, such as a kenzan, scissors, or small accessories. The interior is finished in black.
Label translation (on the box): “Specialty shop for flower vases and tea accessories – Bandō Shōten”, with an address in Yushima, Bunkyō-ku, Tokyo—an established retailer for ikebana and tea utensils.
Condition: in perfect condition, with the original cardboard box.
