Beautiful vintage Cha Tansu or Japanese tea cabinet.
Dimensions: 94 cm height, 75 cm width, 28.5 cm depth.
This Cha Tansu features five drawers, two storage compartments with sliding doors (one with glass), and a small space with a removable panel. Above the glass sliding doors, there is an open display area.
A unique interior piece that will bring an authentic Japanese atmosphere to your home, dating back to around the 1920s.
This cabinet is an impressive example of Japanese craftsmanship.
Pay special attention to the wooden joints where no nails or screws have been used and the fine finishing with beautifully grained veneer.
This cabinet is in good condition, with normal signs of use.
Cha Tansu, also known as Chabitsu or Chagama Tansu, is specially designed for storing and displaying tea utensils used in the Japanese tea ceremony. "Cha" refers to tea and "Tansu" means chest or storage.
