Sky-Blue Kōchi Glaze Ikebana Vase – Tachikichi, Kyoto, 1980s

A highly decorative, round ikebana vase finished in a serene sky-blue kōchi glaze, with a subtle transition from light to deeper blue. The silky matte surface with fine speckling and three small shoulder protrusions give the piece a sculptural, modern character, making it just as striking as a standalone design object as it is in use for floral arrangements.

The original wooden box bears the inscription “kōchi glaze flower vase,” and the accompanying card reads “creative ceramics, Tachikichi,” the renowned Kyoto firm working closely with Kiyomizu workshops. An additional inscription on the underside indicates that the vase was originally presented as a gift.
