Japanese Ichimatsu Doll, Girl with Flower, Glass Display, 1970s
A striking vintage ichimatsu-style doll presented in a glass display case with a black lacquered wooden frame and an opening front door.
The interior is finished with a gold-toned backing and base.
Display dimensions: height 39.5 cm, width 32.5 cm, depth 28 cm.
The doll stands on a black plinth and has long black hair and a serene expression. She wears a richly woven orange brocade kimono with shimmering floral and geometric motifs, paired with a pale over-robe with stylised blossom patterns and a purple obi. In her hand she holds a small bouquet of seasonal flowers.
A small wooden plaque shaped like a miniature shrine is included. It is inscribed with 春暁 (Shungyō, “Spring Dawn”); the smaller vertical text reads 本日の乙女 (“Girl’s Day”), alongside a red seal stamp.
Condition is good, with minor age-appropriate traces. Overall the textiles, figure and display present neatly and are ready to be shown.
