Beautiful vintage Cha Tansu or Japanese tea cabinet.
Dimensions: height 89 cm, width 72 cm, depth 31 cm.
This tea cabinet features numerous drawers and storage compartments. The 'display section' is enclosed by two large sliding glass doors, inside of which is a beautifully shaped étagère and a storage space that can be closed with a removable panel.
A unique interior piece that will bring an authentic Japanese ambiance to your home, dated between 1900-1920.
This cabinet is an impressive example of Japanese craftsmanship. Pay particular attention to the wooden joints where no nails or screws have been used and the fine mulberry veneer finish.
This cabinet is in good condition, with normal signs of use.
Cha Tansu, also known as Chabitsu or Chagama Tansu, is specially designed for storing and displaying tea utensils and equipment used in the Japanese tea ceremony. "Cha" refers to tea, and "Tansu" means chest or storage.
