Japanese tea cabinet from the early Showa period (circa 1930).
These beautiful cabinets were an essential part of the central living space and were used to present and store all the necessities for making tea.
At the top, there is a storage space enclosed by four sliding doors.
In the middle, there is a showcase section with two sliding glass doors.
This showcase features a lovely étagère finished with natural elements, a small drawer, and another compartment sealed with a separate glass door adorned on the inside with beautiful decorative silver-colored paper.
Below, there are storage spaces: on the left with two sliding doors and on the right with a hinged door.
At the very bottom, there is room for two drawers.
All the glass is faceted at the edges. Beautiful dark-grained wood.
With this tea cabinet, you bring an authentic and traditional piece of Japan into your home.
The tansu is in good condition.
