Metal Dog Sculpture, Robert H. Crutchley – Late 20th Century
Distinctive dog sculpture in dark patinated metal, attributed to British artist Robert H. (Bob) Crutchley, dating from the late 20th century.
Dimensions: H 22 × W 4.5 × D 13.5 cm
The sculpture is distinguished by the striking contrast between its two sides. On one side, the slender dog, with its long, drooping ears and recognisable anatomy, is rendered in fine detail. The opposite side features a rough, almost abstract treatment, with even one of the legs reduced to a simple metal rod.
The irregular texture, expressive finish and deep bronze-coloured patina give the piece a distinctive artistic character.
A small yet characterful work of art, beautifully suited as a standalone decorative object in both classic and contemporary interiors.
Beautiful vintage condition with minor signs of wear and a natural patina. Signed C.R. on the underside.
