Product Details

This exquisite Mizusashi (水指), or water container, is a traditional Japanese ceramic artwork crafted by the renowned potter Noma Gazan.

Dimensions: height 18 cm, diameter 18 cm. In perfect condition.
The surface is finished with a deep green and bluish glaze, featuring subtle streaks and color variations. The crackled patterns in the glaze add character and a sense of timeless beauty to the piece. The base reveals the beautifully marbled clay and bears the stamp of Mano Gazan, a mark of authenticity and masterful craftsmanship.
Noma Gazan (間野雅山) was a potter who worked within the Agano/Takatori tradition, also known as Natsuyoshi Yaki (夏吉焼).
His works are celebrated for their connection to Japanese tea ceremony aesthetics and their embodiment of the wabi-sabi philosophy, which finds beauty in simplicity and imperfection.
Beyond its traditional use as a water container in the Japanese tea ceremony, this Mizusashi also serves as a refined decorative object, perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any stylish interior.
This rare and exceptional piece brings the tranquility and sophistication of Japanese ceramic culture into your home.
A must-have for enthusiasts of tea ceremonies, wabi-sabi aesthetics, and authentic Japanese art.
