Set of (10) Urushi Lacquer Serving Tables, Taishō Period, Japan.
A beautiful set of ten Japanese wooden serving tables from the Taishō period, complete with the original wooden storage chest.
These tables were used to present and serve dishes during ceremonies and festivities.
The tabletops reveal the exquisite pattern of the wood grain, while the edges and legs are adorned with vermillion lacquer.
The underside is elegantly black lacquered, and the serving tables rest on four finely shaped legs.
This is a rare and complete set, including the accompanying wooden storage chest.
The traditional lacquerwork adds an authentic Japanese accent to any interior.
