Product Details

Set of two Japanese bamboo baskets dating from the Shōwa period, Japan.
Dimensions: largest basket H 26 cm, diameter 39 cm. Smallest basket H 19 cm, diameter 32 cm.

The baskets are handwoven in a beautiful pattern and finished with sturdy wrapped rims and reinforced bases.

Over time, the natural bamboo has developed a warm patina, with each basket showing its own subtle variation in tone. Visible signs of use and small irregularities are consistent with their age and handmade character.

A beautiful pair of mid-20th-century Japanese utilitarian baskets, today equally attractive as decorative storage baskets or as standalone interior objects.
