Antique Japanese Wooden Sliding Door, Authentic Wall Panel, 1920s

This original Japanese sliding door has exactly the kind of scale that instantly completes a wall.

Dimensions: height 179 cm, width 106.5 cm, depth 4 cm.

The reverse shows beautifully timeworn wood with visible boards and horizontal braces; at the bottom, two integrated wooden rollers remain in place.

One side was, at some point in the past, clad in thin metal and subsequently painted in black and white.

Today, it works as a highly decorative interior piece: think of a large wall panel behind a sofa, a statement in an entry hall, a backdrop for a shop or gallery, or even a freestanding panel for styling and scenography.

Condition: honest, well-aged condition with wear and discoloration consistent with age and use.
