Product Details

Historic architectural ornament dating from 1890–1915, originating from a region of the former Kingdom of Hungary, now part of Romania.

Dimensions: H 29 × W 17 × D 16 cm

This elegant architectural ornament depicts a female face with delicate features, framed by abundant curls and gracefully sculpted locks of hair. The composition tapers towards the bottom, while the upper section is finished with a small projecting ledge. Originally, the ornament formed part of the decorative façade of a historic building.

The warm ochre finish, remnants of the original pale paintwork and beautifully aged patina lend the piece an exceptionally authentic character.

Faint traces of a historic heritage stamp remain visible on the reverse. Following extensive research and comparison with other objects bearing more complete impressions, we were able to reconstruct the stamp as D.C.C.P.C.N. Timiș. This marking refers to a former Romanian regional authority responsible for culture and national heritage, adding an intriguing historical dimension to the piece.

A unique architectural fragment, rich in history and character, now beautifully suited as a sculptural interior accent or a distinctive decorative artwork in its own right.

The ornament displays visible signs of age, localised wear, weathering and minor losses, consistent with its age and original architectural function.
