Product Details

Characterful cedar wooden object from Japan, most likely originally used as the lid of a large barrel or wooden tub.

Dimensions: height 7 cm, width 58 cm, depth 45 cm.

The gently curved surface is made from wide, timeworn boards with a warm honey-brown tone. In the wood you can see beautiful grain, small irregularities and dark oxidation marks from old nails – exactly the kind of details that give the piece its wabi-sabi charm. On the underside, crossbars create a low, slightly floating appearance.

In an interior, this plateau works as a calm, sculptural pedestal. Use it on a table or sideboard for an ikebana arrangement, a vase with blossom branches, ceramics, fruit, candles or a small sculpture. Placed on the floor, under a large plant or beside a low sofa, it instantly brings a Japanese sense of simplicity and natural tranquility into the space.

A special, pure piece that fits effortlessly into both minimalist and more eclectic interiors.
