Pair of Vintage Sakunami Kokeshi by Hiraga Kenjirō – Japan, ca. 1950s

This refined pair of traditional Sakunami-kei kokeshi dolls was crafted by renowned artisan Hiraga Kenjirō (平賀謙次郎) in Japan, circa 1950s. Each doll features the distinctive characteristics of the Sakunami style, with softly rounded heads, delicately painted facial expressions, and tall cylindrical bodies adorned with expressive brushwork in either deep black or warm red hues.
