Vintage Japanese Wooden Jewellery Cabinet with Four Drawers, 1970s

An elegant small jewellery cabinet made from sugi wood, Japanese cedar, with a warm wood tone, pronounced grain pattern, and black metal fittings.

Dimensions: height 24 cm, width 22 cm, depth 16.5 cm.

This compact cabinet has four practical drawers: two smaller upper drawers and two larger lower drawers. The exterior shows the lively grain of sugi wood, with deep flame-like patterns and warm colour variations. Despite its small size, this gives the piece a rich and decorative presence. The black metal fittings and classic handles add a traditional Japanese character.

Inside, the drawers are lined with red textile, ideal for storing jewellery, watches, small valuables, writing materials, or personal objects. Two drawers show traces of previous use in the lining, but this is not disturbing and fits the age and function of the piece.

The cabinet is otherwise in very good used condition. A charming and practical Japanese storage object that works beautifully on a desk, bedside table, console, or dressing table, while adding a warm accent to a contemporary interior.
