Authentic antique Japanese traditional lacquerware set with original storage chest from the Meiji period (1901).
Dimensions of storage chest: 88.5 cm x 36 cm x 36 cm.
All pieces are made of wood and adorned with black glossy lacquer and a red mark.
These tables and dining bowls were used to present and serve dishes during ceremonies and festivities.
The serving tables and dining bowls are unique decorative accents that will add a serene Japanese touch to any interior.
This set includes 5 presentation tables, one side table, one pouring jug with lid, and the dining bowls total 36 pieces (including bowls and lids).
The wooden storage chest is divided into compartments and features a removable panel with handwritten calligraphy.
The date can be inferred from the text: 明治卅四年辛丑春 (Meiji 34th year, spring of the Year of the Ox).
Some parts of the set may not be in perfect condition due to age and may show cracks or discoloration.
However, these imperfections are not at all detracting when used decoratively.
