Decorative set of two vintage Japanese bamboo baskets, dating from the 1960s–1970s.

Dimensions large basket: height 25 cm, diameter 37 cm.
Dimensions small basket: height 23 cm, diameter 32 cm.

The baskets are handwoven in warm dark brown bamboo and have a beautiful rounded shape with a strong braided upper rim. The open weave, natural colour variations and aged patina give the set an authentic and atmospheric presence.

This type of basket was used in Japan as a practical storage or carrying basket, possibly for harvest, textiles, household items or other everyday materials. Today, they work beautifully as decorative interior pieces: ideal for throws, textiles, dried flowers, plant pots, firewood or simply as natural accents in a warm interior.

The baskets are in good vintage condition, with normal signs of age and use consistent with their age, material and handmade character.
