Set of Five Vintage Japanese Bamboo Baskets, 1970s–1980s

A highly decorative set of five vintage Japanese bamboo baskets, dating from the 1970s–1980s. The baskets have a rounded, low bowl shape with softly curved sides and a beautifully woven structure.

Dimensions vary per basket: the smallest basket measures 16 cm in height and 24 cm in diameter. The largest basket measures 22 cm in height and 32 cm in diameter.

Each basket is handwoven in warm natural bamboo, with subtle variations in colour, shape and weave. The fine woven pattern runs beautifully towards the centre and clearly shows the artisanal character of these Japanese objects. The rounded rims are neatly finished and give the baskets an elegant, calm appearance.

Thanks to their different sizes, the five baskets form a very decorative set. They can be used as storage baskets, decorative bowls, display pieces or atmospheric objects for textiles, dried flowers, fruit, paper goods or small collected items.
