Vintage Japanese Monthly Planner Chalkboard Wall Board, 1960s

This Japanese chalkboard is an original monthly planner, designed for planning and note-taking with chalk.

Dimensions: height 60 cm, width 90 cm, depth 6 cm.

The layout is clear and highly graphic: narrow vertical columns for each day of the month, with 1–15 at the top and 16–31 halfway down, so you can fill in the entire month in one overview. In the upper left corner, 備考 marks a section for remarks/notes, and on the right there is additional space for short memos.

The board is made of wood and finished in a deep green-grey chalkboard tone with crisp white grid lines. Along the bottom runs a full-width wooden chalk ledge, ideal for keeping chalk or a small eraser. At the top, two metal hanging loops are fixed in place, so it is ready to hang straight away.

In a contemporary interior, this piece is surprisingly versatile: in the kitchen as a monthly planner, in the hallway as a family message board, in a studio or shop as a practical planning tool, or simply as a decorative accent with a calm, Japanese school aesthetic.
